Abstract
The Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Advanced Systems Directorate (MDA/DV) is developing the MicroSatellite Target System (MTS) to research and develop the technologies necessary to build relatively inexpensive microsatellites for calibration of terrestrial radar. MTS-1 is designed to simulate reentry vehicle (RV) dynamics using the spacecraft (SC) Attitude Control System (ACS). The Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) Space Vehicles Directorate is the executing agent for MTS under MDA sponsorship.
