Abstract :
The ARM (Application Response Measurement) API provides a way to manage business transactions. By embedding simple calls to an agent supporting the ARM API, an application can be managed for availability, service level agreements, and capacity planning. Recent extensions to the API provide a way for applications to provide additional information about transactions, including the relationship between parent and child transactions. This paper describes the API, and then explores how ARM information can be used to monitor and diagnose application response time
