Abstract
A method is presented to recast the maximum likelihood equation for a GPS signal angle of arrival as a dynamical system. This map possesses a global attractor at the solution of the maximum likelihood equation, and therefore converges to the true AOA MLE regardless of the starting estimate used. A performance analysis shows the RMSE of its estimates are typically below the CRLB.
