Abstract :
Wavelet transform of a cross correlation function between an input signal and output signal has been shown to be effective in determining dead times of control systems of nuclear power plants, through two applications to Japanese prototype fast breeder reactor MONJU. This method needs only inherent fluctuations of plant parameters, without any artificial disturbance like a maximum-length linear shift register sequence. This feature is thought very advantageous in nuclear power plants, where disturbances are highly restricted.
