Abstract :
Jiangsu province is located in China´s east coast with a long coastline, which endows the province with rich wind resources. The total installed capacity of wind power has reached 648.25 MW by the end of 2008. Up to now, Jiangsu has initially established an industrial chain with its leading place in domestic manufacturing industry of wind power equipment, providing strong support for the low-carbon featured chlor-alkali industry bases of non-grid-connected wind power. As an energy-intensive industry, the benefit of chlor-alkali industry is subject to the amount and price of energy supply. The large-scale application of non-grid-connected wind power to the chlor-alkali industry can increase the energy supply while reducing the pressure of coal production. The present paper focuses on the construction of low-carbon featured chlor-alkali industry bases energized by non-grid-connected wind power and the establishment of the ldquonon-grid-connected wind power - chlorine alkali productionrdquo industrial chain; discusses the implementation object and plan for the construction of low-carbon featured chlor-alkali industry base. It plays a significant role in the comprehensive exploitation and application of wind resources in offshore Jiangsu, and the sustainable development of chlor-alkali industry and new energy resources.
