Abstract :
The vegetation change is widely accepted as a distinct ecological effect of urbanization, and the fraction of green vegetation based on remotely sensed data has been a key approach to study the land use and land cover change. Based on the existing researches about landscape patterns, this paper integrated the fraction of green vegetation into the gradient analysis to quantify and capture the spatial-temporal dynamic variations of green vegetation in urban areas. And for better understanding this RS-based gradient analysis approach, the City of Shenzhen in China was used as the study area.
