Research on assessment system for chemical logistics service providers based on analytic hierarchy process in China

With the application of the core competence analysis and supply chain theory in process industries, more and more chemical enterprises are outsourcing their non-core business such as logistics business section. However, the challenge is how to choose appropriate logistics suppliers, majority of them tend to focus on cost negotiation which is not suitable right now. This paper analyzes the state of art of the domestic logistics market and constructs rating criteria for logistics suppliers of chemical industry and applies the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) to determine the parameters of the rating system. It´s helpful for the chemical enterprise to quantitatively choose their logistics suppliers.
