Abstract
We describe a project to develop a configuration management solution that will allow several heterogeneous applications to access standardized common and operating system functionality in a Unix environment. The configuration requirements from several applications can be integrated on a single host. A file-based API to common functions allows applications to be modular and portable across Unix-like operating system flavors
