Abstract :
Traditional social network only consider the structural characteristics of a social organization, but more information about nodes and edges cannot be exploited. The method of using ontology to describe social network is studied in this paper, which attaches nodes and sides with computer-understandable semantic. Firstly, the relation of social network and ontology is analyzed based on the structure of ontology. Then, the process of describing social network using ontology is studied, as well as its new futures. Construction of a scientific research cooperation network validates this method. Social network with semantic can contain more information beside social structure, and it can be used to make more accurate analysis for social organization.
