Abstract
This paper presents a new approach to the modification of materials surfaces using an atmospheric dielectric barrier discharge plasma jet. The emission spectral lines and the macroscopic plasma temperature of argon plasma jet are obtained using the spectral diagnostics method and the liquid-in-glass thermometer, respectively. Results show that electron excitation temperature and the macroscopic temperature of plasma increase with increasing applied voltage and decrease with the increasing gas flow rate.
