Abstract
A modeling technique that structures a given set of desired services into a format suitable for driving two parts of the development process-computer simulation and architecture particularization-is presented. The model includes no assumptions about input services or system capabilities expected, and thus is applicable to a wide range of services and system implementations. The modeling technique, coupled with related simulation and architecture particularization efforts, can be the basis for a powerful, service-driven, system design procedure, resulting in the identification of system specifications, system applications, and necessary resources
