Abstract :
Air pollution is one of the major factors affecting human health. Examining the relationship between air pollution and respiratory disease is a major focus in environmental science. In this paper, we conduct a correlation analysis between air pollutant concentrations in 2004 (specifically PM10, NO2 and SO2) and 2004 data on respiratory disease inpatients (including bronchitis, asthma and pneumonia) from No.1 People´s Hospital, City A. The results show that bronchitis inpatient data clearly correlates with PM10 and NO2 concentrations; asthma inpatient data have positive linear relations with PM10 concentrations; and pneumonia inpatient data have a positive linear relation with SO2 concentrations. The results are comparable to other research in China.
