Abstract :
A 3D finite element model of the band brake on Φ117 anchor windlass is established with PRO/E software. Transient temperature field in emergent braking condition and temperature distributions of the brake band and the friction linings are analyzed with a finite element analysis software-MSC.Marc. All these results could provide references for improving a design.
