Abstract :
Multiple access and intersymbol interference of CDMA systems within a cell make single user detection error prone. The perturbation method of multiuser detection (MUD) can correct this. In addition to the single cell interference there is adjacent cell interference (ACI), which can be reduced by a set of new codes with interference reduction window (IRW) and exclusive even/odd code assignment to adjacent cells. Simulation shows that the MUD receiver significantly outperforms RAKE receivers. The new methods simplify the CDMA systems and improve their performance.
