Abstract :
This paper introduces the Street Poet project which features digitally augmented and location-aware contents. Client program in this project is capable of obtaining user´s geographic position by GPS in order to playback relevant education contents. Audio augmented reality (AR) is one of the key feature of this project. We propose an audio AR in order to make immersive environments to enhance the effectiveness of ubiquitous learning (u-learning). The binaural processing module utilizes the information on the user´s location and direction and generates the spatial sound dependent on the information. For non-experts, we provide authoring tools which is based on off-the-shelf geographic software for comprehensive usability. We also introduce our contents-providing method which uses inference engine to determine proper contents for individual user´s profile.
