Abstract :
Summary form only given. The electron beam propagation behavior in a coaxial cavity with split-foil was invesitgated by means of PIC(particle-in- cell) method and experiment. The electron could propagate in a coaxial drift cavity with split-foil for focusing the electron. However, in the limit of high-current electron flow, the effect of the azimuthal self-magnetic field on the trajectories cannot be neglected and result in self-focusing of the beam in the drift cavity. In this paper, the electron which was collected by collector was inducted and moved along the inner conductor, there was a current which had a reverse direction compared to the electron beam current. The magnetic field which was produced by the current in the inner conductor would weaken the self-magnetic field of the electron beam, so the electron beam would not pinch and could propagate in a coaxial cavity. The experiment results agreed on the results of simulation.
