Abstract :
This article presents an overview of the sensing mechanism of potentiometric electrochemical gas sensors with the main point on mixed potential gas sensors. Influence of electrode materials and solid electrolyte on the sensing behavior are explained and the existing constructions are described, in comparison to a new concept of a planar mixed potential gas sensor.
