Abstract :
In this research, a quadruped robot using an embedded system connected to the tele-operation server and wireless sensor network was developed. By using the i.MX21 embedded system, this robot transmits the MPEG 4 image sequence to the tele-operation server, and face detection and following control are performed in the server. The developed robot has 12 DOF 4 legs and 2 DOF pan-tilt actuators. As the developed robot is moving gateway for sensor network, it gathers home circumstance data from various networked sensors and make up for dead zone of sensor network. This robot can be applied to home security system with sensor network.
