Abstract :
In this paper the inflow and runoff process of Meishan reservoir is simulated from 1978 to 1987 using CREST (The Coupled Routing and Excess Storage model) model. The influence to simulation results of model forced by measured and global evaporation data is also analyzed at the same time. Through the optimized parameter calibration process a preferred model parameter is set up and used for the different runoff process simulation. The results show that model forced by the global evaporation data instead of measured ones can not only reflect the runoff process properly, but also proved the model can be used well in the basin with large area. The comparison experiments on error analysis between different evaporation data resources indicate the applicability of global evaporation data in runoff simulation of basins with different scales. The results provide the theoretical basis for runoff simulation with large scale of space-time and data scarce areas.
