Abstract
The service oriented architecture (SOA) paradigm shifted the focus from business functions and object-orientation towards services, in which business processes can be implemented as services, so that they can be offered to other interested parties (within or outside the organization) .As services are an implementation of business processes, it should be possible to include in the service specification, all capabilities or distinct features related to the business processes, as this might provide for a competitive advantage over similar services offered by other (competing) organizations. Transaction support is such a capability and is the basis for the work presented.
