Abstract
By using CEOF method and some results from EOF method, we analyse the meteorological drought in southwest China lasting from the end of 2009 to 2010. We find that the center of abnormal space amplitude is right above the southwest China. When the changing of time phase is consistent with spatial phase, there is strong anomaly propagating, and this kind of propagation may lead to the drought. Besides, there is obvious changing in the length of periodicity, too.
