Abstract
A simple and practical method of synthesizing the load dynamic characterization is proposed in this paper, and with the data measured from Guangdong grid, the dynamic load models are obtained. The models and BPA static load models are respectively used in simulating generators phase swing and in the bus-ground fault simulation in Shuibei substation. The simulation results show that the short-circuit currents simulated by the dynamic load models are closer to the real currents measured from the grid than that simulated by the static load models. When calculating the transient stability limits, the limit power simulated by using the dynamic load models is slightly bigger than that obtained by the static load models.
