Abstract
The risk of seawater intrusion and susceptibility to natural hazard is important for the development of coastal regions of China. Based on the method of TOPSIS and 12 indicators, the development vulnerability of seawater intrusion coastal regions in China is studied taking Weihai City as the case. The results show that the development vulnerability of study area are classified into 5 types: extreme and low vulnerability areas that are high risk region of seawater intrusion hazard and cover an area of 27.73% of total study area, general vulnerability area, low stable area, and stable area. Some new forms of management based on traditional and scientific knowledge must be introduced to solve problems of land-use planning and disaster proof in the coastal regions of China.
