Abstract
The voltage stability of a power system is greatly effected by load characteristics. The more a proper load model is used, the more accurate the results of voltage stability analysis are. The essential problems in load modeling and parameters identification are discussed in detail in this paper. Based on the original data, the first-order induction motor model and its improved one are presented. The parameters of these two models are identified and their abilities to describe actual loads are also analyzed.
