Abstract
Based on the operation principle of variable speed constant frequency (VSCF) wind power generator, a novel circuit topology of doubly-fed VSCF wind generator control system is proposed, which integrates a DC voltage buck-boost chopper with a bi-directional converter. The system is controlled by Intel 8XC196MC 16-bit single-chip-computer. The mathematic model of the excitation control, which based on the control of the power factor, is derived, and the control technique for different operation modes of the doubly-fed VSCF wind generator is studied. The simulation and experimental results show that the proposed hardware design and control strategy of power factor are feasible and practical.
