Abstract :
This paper presents a general view on ongoing new researches, developments and perspectives in airborne phased arrays radars under the light of four main drivers: (1) the cost reduction of the current AESA, (2) new applications requiring very low cost solutions, (3) the need to share the resources (balconies and antennas) on the aircraft, and (4) the "distributed sensor" emergence (multistatic sensor).
