Abstract :
We propose a novel approach of capturing and distributing multiple video perspective streams from multiple camera-equipped wireless mobile devices such as smart phones or netbooks via a peer-to-peer network. We show this approach supports a more inclusive learning environment. We compare current peer-to-peer approaches to determine which approach best supports multiple video perspective streams. We show this approach is less expensive, more scalable, flexible and easier to deploy compared with the traditional solution that requires a traditional camera operator capturing a single high bandwidth video perspective stream. In addition, this approach supports additional perspective transformations such as audio captioning of the speaker and optical character recognition of overheads and whiteboards, which increases participation inclusiveness and indexing capability.
