Abstract :
The changing rules of the landscape elements and their distribution in Xuzhou Jiuli coal mining area are analyzed by means of remote sensing images obtained in 2000, 2005 and 2008.Between 2000 and 2008, number of patches and patch density decreased and then increased. However patch cohesion increased and then decreased. Shannon diversity index and evenness index increased during the same period. It indicated that this mining area develops to the fragmental direction with an increasing of the diversity, and a more vulnerable ecosystem. The area of construction land and mining land, the percentage of patch type increased continually. The largest patch indicator decreased and then increased. The edge density of mining land increased predominantly, indicating that the speed and degree of fragment is the largest. The edge density of construction land tends to be decreasing, with the high interspersion juxtaposition index. The vegetation decreased a lot in area, percentage of patch type, the largest patch indicator, edge density and cohesion. The area and cohesion of water also decreased at the same time; however the edge density decreased and then increased. Through the analysis of status, land reclamation program between 2009 and 2010 has showed preliminary results, and the results of ecological restoration are good.
