  • Abstract
    SVC (static VAr compensator) with high-power SCRs, is an important member in FACTS (flexible AC transmission system) family. Research on its control system design has an important role in improving SVC behavior. This paper presents the hardware building blocks design and the software control methods in SVC control system, generally being built with industrial computers, the digital signal processors, I/O system and some circuit boards. The following research is based on the project of SVC developed by Tsinghua University and ShunDe Special Transformer Works since 2000.
