Abstract
In this paper, based on the difference of scattering mechanism between Kelvin wakes and sea clutter in SAR images, with multiband and full polarization, the polarimetric characters of the Kelvin wakes are extracted and studied in order to detection or identification for the wakes. Besides proposing that simple co-polarized ratio can strengthen Kelvin wakes, this paper focuses on the application of polarimetric decomposition, extracting polarization entropy which represents the Kelvin wakes characters more completely, and gives its physical significance. Based on the polarimetric characters mentioned above, this paper expounds the methods to identify Kelvin wakes. The identifying conclusion demonstrates that if it could not confirm the suspected target only in the method of traditional Radon transform, the method mentioned in this paper is useful.
