  • Abstract
    With the development of computer technologies, 3D technology and applications become more and more important. In order to enhance user´s 3D experience, Web3D technology provides the way to embed interactive 3D content into web pages. Some open standards of Web3D technology (VRML and X3D) are given but they cannot meet the increasing application need, so many companies built their own Web3D implementations. However, the variety of these implementations makes developers difficult to decide which one should be chosen. In this paper, according to analyzing several popular Web3D tools and measure their application features, some quantities indicators of several Web3D tools are given. They provide the decision method to help Web3D developers easier for their development. At last, according to the comparison, we build a virtual prototype apartment to introduce the estate use of Web3D technology.
