Abstract :
Resonant antennas are widely used for their small size such as microstrip antennas. Recently, an alternative antenna is proposed, which is referred to as dielectric resonator antennas (DRA). The DRA has many advantages over the microstrip antennas such as wide band, small size and high radiation efficiency. The small size of the DRA makes it suitable element for antenna arrays. An example of dielectric disc is considered. The mutual coupling between two elements is computed and linear and planar arrays of this element are considered. The linear phased array with different scanning angles is studied taking all mutual coupling into effect. It was found that the mutual coupling has no significant effect on the scanning angle direction.
