Abstract :
This paper investigates the carbon emission of Chinese construction sector using the Input-Output analysis approach. Given the data from China´s Input-Output Table 2007, the direct, indirect and total carbon emissions of the construction sector have been estimated, and the carbon emission of other sectors induced by the pull effect of the construction industry is obtained as well. Comparing the carbon emission and the pull effect of carbon emission of each sector, it is evident that the carbon emission, as well as the pull effect of carbon emission of construction sector is in a predominant position among all sectors.
