Abstract :
In this paper, the simulation environment MATLAB/SIMULINK is used to establish the simulation model of different electric locomotives and compute harmonic currents. A special formula is proposed for obtaining the harmonic currents at a traction substation. The database for storing and managing the information of the simulate calculation is designed. Then the mathematical model of traction network and traction transformer is developed. The simulation program can be used to obtain the statistical characteristics and the probability density function of the harmonic currents in a whole day, according to a railway´s schedule and operating policy.
