Abstract
This paper proposes a novel structure of a pulsed transformer with saturable core where the voltage multiplication of the conventional pulsed transformers is combined with the power amplification of the magnetic compression systems. In this way, by combining the pulse forming part and the primary energy storage system, it is possible to realize much more compact pulsed power generators. The results of the finite element simulations of the constructed pulsed transformers are in good accordance with the experimental results.
