Abstract :
Pulse modes are considered to be promising as a power-saving technique of the non-equilibrium plasma generation for industrial and aerospace plasma systems. In present paper the experiments regarding the plasma decay after the electron beam cut off and the following plasma regeneration when the beam is turned on again are discussed. The experiments were carried out using a multipurpose hybrid plasma generator, which is able to produce still plasma clouds of various gases, sub- and supersonic plasma flows, and plasma of solid or liquid aerosols. The optical radiation and electron density of the hybrid plasmas of pure contaminated noble gases were measured as functions of time. The behavior of aerosol particles under the action of a pulsed electron beam was studied as well. Both unordered dusty plasma clouds and ordered dust plasma structures in plasma traps affected by the modulated electric beam were considered from the point of view of the stability and controllability of the plasma bulk. The plasma assisted combustion of dispersed propellants was proved to be a promising application of the hybrid plasma flows containing liquid drops.
