Abstract :
This paper is focused on the pedestrian flow characteristics for passage in subway stations and railway station in Beijing. By collecting and analyzing the data, the paper finds the different of the pedestrian speed characteristics between two kinds of transit hubs. The collected data were also used to develop speed/flow relationships and to calibrate the travel time function. By making an investigation, the paper sets up the passage indexes system to research the indexes which affect the pedestrian speed, and also establishes the method of computing.
