Abstract
Fairing the steel plate by hot works is an important technics to improve the quality of the vessel. The mechanical performance of high-strength ship steel plate faired by hot works will influence the structural strength of the hull. In this paper, DH32 high-strength ship steel plate is taken as example to investigate the variation of the properties due to being heated by welding flame. Performance parameters are measured for two pieces of sample, which one is faired by hot works and the other not. Some useful suggestions are put forward based on the assessing the mechanical performance of the plate faired by hot works.
