Abstract :
This paper compares several systems for automated acquisition and representation of knowledge using two epistemological dimensions: (1) symbolic versus numeric knowledge, or “quality” versus “quantity,” and (2) declarative versus procedural knowledge, or “fact” versus “skill.”
