Abstract :
This paper presents a novel topology of a voltage source zero-voltage switching (ZVS) high frequency inverter type DC-DC power converter with a transformer link, which incorporates zero-current switching (ZCS) mode synchronous phase shifted PWM active power switches into the diode arms of a full-bridge or center tapped rectifier. By implementing the proposed power converter, switching and conduction dissipated power losses of all the active power devices can be reduced which is based on circulating and idling current flowing through a high frequency transformer link compared with the previously-developed soft-switching full-bridge inverter type DC-DC power converter with a phase-shifted PWM scheme in the high frequency transformer primary side. This converter has been assessed on the basis of the simulation operating analysis and performance analysis, together with some experimental results of 2 kW-40 kHz breadboard set up
