  • Abstract
The patchy permafrost in Mohe-Beijicun highway is warm, thin, little, thermally unstable and sensitive to ground vegetation, the soil lithology and surface water. According to above characteristics of permafrost, the problems which would meet in constructing Mohe-Beijicun Highway were discussed. Based on the successful experience on highway construction in permafrost regions of Qinghai-Tibet plateau and Northeast of China, the paper put forward the design principles of melting and control melting to design the embankment in permafrost regions. And the relevant countermeasures were also put forward ensuring the stability of embankment of Mohe-Beijicun Highway in permafrost regions.
