A parametric fuzzy control module with 16 bit standard microcontroller SAB 80C166 for a modular process data system

The design and implementation of a parametric fuzzy control module for an independent modular process data and control system are presented. The module is designed to receive either precalculated process data from the internal process computer of the process data system or real time process data by connecting the fuzzy module to process sensor interfaces. A 16-bit CMOS microcontroller, the SAB 80C166, works as CPU. Depending on piecewise linear membership functions and fuzzy rules up to four independent system outputs are calculated and fed back to the process computer or directly adjust process actuators. Process system information, membership functions, fuzzy control system optimization and fuzzy rules can be set by only few parameters. For fuzzy system development no external computer is needed. A realtime system optimization is provided by the design of the fuzzy controller with a neural network structure
