Abstract
Instantaneous reactive power compensation in a single-phase scheme is implemented. The analytical analysis is presented. The proposed single phase based theory can be successfully used for reactive power compensation of single phase as well as three phase systems. This method generates a sinusoidal reference current waveform in the utility side in the imbalanced utility voltage and/or imbalanced load current cases. The validity of the presented method and its comparison with original pq theory is studied through simulation results
