Abstract
An algorithm to approximate circle/circular arc with C2 cubic B-spline curve is presented. Given a prescribed tolerance e, the algorithm can find a C2 cubic B-spline curve with minimal number of segments that approximate the given circle/circular arc within e. The method developed can be used for various applications in CAD/CAM, biomechanical engineering and other fieIds.
