Abstract :
In this paper, we describe the implementation and performance of a novel approach applied to image-contrast enhancement. This new algorithm is the extension of particle swarm optimisation (PSO). This algorithm, which is called predator-prey optimisation (PPO), is inspired from the relation of competitive co-evolution between tow different populations in an ecosystem, which are the predator and prey. The results of our application are compared to a classical method of image enhancement which is histogram equalization method
