Abstract
A recently developed decision support system to aid nonengineering professionals in evaluating the quality of roofing systems for commercial and residential buildings is described. A description of the requirements, theoretical background, and architecture of the system is provided. The accompanying computer program is also described. Finally, the predicted quality levels of thirteen roofing systems are compared with the observed quality levels of the roofing systems based on their performance in Hurricane Andrew in 1992
