Abstract
This article-presents a new algorithm for detecting approximate vertical line in infrared image. Facing the special situation of detecting approximate vertical line, the algorithm takes specific steps to reduce the calculation cost. Three steps of this algorithm: edge detection, column-line connection and line extraction, are discussed in detail. The experimental result is also shown; the performance of the algorithm is satisfactory
