Abstract :
The effect of metallurgical property of coke and the formation of sulfide phase added with CaO, Fe2O3 and La2O3 have been investigated using contrast test and XRD phase analysis. The results indicate that additives have little impact on coke dropping broken strength, but the wear strength of coke is deteriorated with CaO and Fe2O3 addition and improved with La2O3. The coke reactivity is increased with CaO and Fe2O3 addition and the coke strength after reaction is reduced. The additive La2O3 could improve the wear strength of coke but little impact on the reactivity and strength after reaction of coke. The sulfide phase in coke is mainly CaS and the additives of Fe2O3 and La2O3 have a good promotion action on the CaS phase formation in the coking process.
