Abstract :
For reflector antennas, if the feed horns have the conventional characteristic, just like the single mode horns from Kelleher, the requirement of simultaneous high gain and low side lobes is impossible, In this paper, the designed and measured results of a shaped beam doubly curved reflector antenna are given. The E-plane 10 dB level beam width of it´s feed horn is about 1.7 times that of the 3 dB level beam width (the H-plane is 1.82 ). Compared with the feed horns that has 1.82 E- and H- plane beam width ratios like Kelleher´s, the gain of the antenna is not changed, but the side lobes were reduced about 4 dB.
