Abstract :
A multi-layer cylindrical dielectric resonator antenna (MCDRA) is designed for wideband applications. The design is performed numerically and verified experimentally. The antenna consists of three-different dielectric discs one on top of the other. A coaxial probe is used to excite the antenna and is placed off the antenna axis to achieve a broadside radiation pattern. A 10 dB return loss of about 66% bandwidth is achieved with a 50 Ohms coaxial port.
